Procedure for welding your bucket strip.
Please apply a 30 degree chamfer to the edge of the bucket strip and bucket wide enough to facilitate a good weld.
Remove all residue from surfaces to be welded.
Correctly assemble and clamp the bucket strip to the bucket.
Types of electrodes to be used:
Pre-heat to 300 degrees Celsius use electrode AWS-E7018
Pre-heat to 100 degrees Celsius use electrode AWS-E110-18G
No pre-heat use electrode AWS-E307 or AWS-E312
Tack weld the bucket strip to the bucket in several positions before applying fillet weld.
Please allow weld to cool naturally if possible - rapid cooling by the application of water for example, could cause thermal shock within the material leading to the weld and or bucket strip to crack.
